Commissions

  • How much do commissions cost?
    Pricing for digital commissions are as follows:

    For paintings, pricing differs. There is a starting cost based on the size of the painting which you can find below:

    The total price of the painting will depend on how long it takes for me to complete it. My hourly rate is £25 per hour so I will estimate the time and calculate the total price for you based on what you are commissioning. An invoice will be emailed to you after this. 
  • How do I contact you if I want a commission?
    You can fill out the form in the commission section HERE. Another way to contact me is through my email (commission@hauwasstudio.com), or you can DM me directly on my Instagram page @hauwas.studio.
  • What do I need to send you?
    A form will be sent to you after you request for a commission. Kindly complete it to your best ability as this will cover anything I will need from you. 
  • Can I get a printed version of my digital commission?
    Printed versions are available. Just include the size you would like it printed in when filling out your commission request. Printing is free for sizes up to and including 8 x 10” in portrait and 8 x 8” in square. Printing price for sizes above this are as follows:

  • Are commissions portraits only?
    No, I cover basically everything!

  • How long should I expect to wait for my commission?
    Please allow 2-3 business days for an invoice and at least a week for a draft.

    If you requested a printed commission or an oil painting, this will be delivered 2-3 business days after you validate the draft.
  • How do I pay?
    You will be invoiced directly for a down payment for 50% of the commission. When you’re happy with the draft, you will be invoiced for the remaining. You can also choose to pay in full. Payment details will be on all invoices.

    Please be informed that all down payments are non-refundable. If you are extremely unhappy with the commission and have paid in full, you can make a complaint in the message section and be refunded 50% of the total commission cost.

Returns

  • Do you accept returns or exchanges?
    I do not accept returns or exchanges due to the made-to-order nature of my shop.
  • What happens if there’s an error with my order?
    If an error is made with your print order. It will be corrected and a replacement sent. If it’s with a commission order, email me and I’ll sort it out ASAP.

Shipping & Turn Around Time

  • Do you ship internationally?
    Yes!
  • How long will it take to get my order?
    Please look at the “Shipping details” section in the product description. It should typically take around 5-7 business days for standard delivery within the UK and around 7-13 days internationally.
  • Is it possible to get an item finished and shipped sooner than the normal turn around time?
    For orders within the UK, select the express delivery option during checkout. For international orders, It depends, so email me before you purchase. 

Prints 

  • Do the frames come with prints?
    No, I only sell prints. 
  • What type of paper are the prints?
    All prints are high quality Giclée prints, specifically a pure white Baryta base paper with excellent black density, contrast and reproduction of detail. The Baryta base creates whiter whites and deeper blacks whilst the silky smooth reflective coating enhances the detail and definition of the images.
  • Can I see a general size guide?

  • Do you have any advice for starting a business?
    I do have a few tips! I will be putting up an article on this soon so keep a look out!
  • What equipment do you use?
    I use an iPad Pro 11 inch and the procreate app to create all my digital pieces. 

Copyright & Image Use

All artwork and content produced by Hauwa Muhammad / Hauwas.Studio is legally protected by U.K. & International copyright laws. Under NO circumstance is it permitted for you to use Hauwa Muhammad's artwork for commercial purposes, without proper and prior permission from the artist.

This includes merchandise of any kind, prints, apparel, books, advertising or any other for-profit purposes. You may not use the artist's work to represent a brand that is not affiliated with Hauwas Studio without written consent. You may not use the artist’s work for your own branding, including your logo, website, advertising or product packaging.

Hauwas Studio retains the copyrights to all artwork produced by the artist, regardless of having sold the original image. Unless you have a signed contract with Hauwa Muhammad / Hauwas Studio that grants permission, you may not use an image for commercial purposes, regardless of whether or not you own the original artwork.

If you would like to share her work on social media, or a website blog post feel free, but please credit Hauwa Muhammad, @hauwas.studio, or hauwasstudio.com in the caption or tagline.
